Personality[]
Crude, rude and at times truly repellent, Mephitic was a giant shambling monstrosity composed almost entirely of deadly toxic waste and human pollution. Mephitic was also implied to see himself as a bit of a collector, as he took great pleasure in putting as many people under his thrall as possible using his powers to take control of their bodies and minds.
After Harley Quinn proved to be immune to his control, Mephitic became unhealthily fixated on her, desiring to know why she was so different. This would lead to him kidnapping and cruelly experimenting on her to see if he could put her under his control.
Mephitic was also shown to be rather sadistic, as he took an almost perverse pleasure in torturing Harley by forcing her to take long deep breaths of his overpowering toxins and would watch with a savage glee as she choked and gagged to the point of bursting into tears and getting a bloody nose.
