James Gunn is a minor character on Harley Quinn and the director behind the Thomas Wayne biopic, A Hard Wayne's Gonna Fall.

Biography[]

Season 3[]

In "Harlivy", Clayface auditions for the role of Thug #3 in the latest Thomas Wayne biopic in front of Gunn, who initially rejects him. However, after Clayface coaxes Gunn to become his new "chair", he hires him as his new director's chair instead.

In "The 83rd Annual Villy Awards", Gunn directs Billy Bob Thornton in a scene where he makes a phone call to presumably Martha Wayne about taking Bruce to the theater to watch a movie. Once the scene was over, Gunn complained about his back pain, and Clayface vibrated to alleviate his pain.

As Clayface tries to coax Thornton into helping him with some acting lessons, Thornton starts to talk to Gunn, who enjoys a Danish. They talk about revising the script, but Gunn brushes him off. However, Clayface impersonates Gunn to discuss the script more at "his place", which Thornton accepts.

Afterward, when Thornton arrives at Catwoman's apartment, Clayface greets him, impersonating Gunn again. Thornton calls out Clayface for his impersonation of Gunn but still agrees to become his mentor. It's after Thornton dies from being mauled by Princess, and his corpse is devoured by King Shark, Gunn contacts Thornton. So, Clayface answers the call, impersonating Thornton, and Gunn seemingly buys it.

In "Batman Begins Forever", Clayface contacts Gunn to request that he add a mustache to Thomas' face, and Gunn agrees to do it via CGI in post production.

In "The Horse and the Sparrow", Gunn attends the premiere of his movie, "A Hard Wayne's Gonna Fall," and is seen mingling with Cheetah in the lobby before the movie starts. He later sits in the audience during the movie and joins in the applause for "Billy Bob."
