"Family Feud" is the eighth episode of the fifth season of Harley Quinn, and the fifty-fifth episode overall. It was released on March 6, 2025, on Max.
Synopsis[]
With tensions between them at an all-time high, Harley heads to Bensonhurst for a family emergency while Ivy vows to take down Lena once and for all.
Plot[]
Ivy is enraged that Harley trusted Lena to help save her life, as Lena had murdered Frank and now just kidnaped Frankette. As Ivy storms out of the apartment, Harley gets a call from her father Nick Quinzel saying her mother Sharon Quinzel just died.
Ivy storms into Bruce Wayne’s penthouse to demand a way to speak with Lena. However, he’s crying in his pajamas on the couch, lamenting the fact that he only found out about the relationship with Brainiac via the musical. He tries calling again, but she ignores the call from Brainiac’s Skull Ship. She has logged into the admin role on his ship’s computer to take over his systems. After she does, she breaks her phone to ignore Bruce’s calls. Ivy continues to push Bruce and tries to see if he can help her get to space to fight Lena. She becomes his emotional support, but Bruce continues to cry and eat a gallon of ice cream. Ivy travels by plant to Lena’s Penthouse and breaks in using her plants. Inside, she meets Gail, a woman who asks her to “sign in” before she’ll let her into the apartment. Gail does not know how to use the tablet to get her signed in. Ivy grows impatient.
Harley arrives at her father’s house and asks what happened to her mother. Her father tells her a story about Harley’s mother getting hit by a big rig truck and getting dragged for blocks. However, suddenly, Sharon’s voice rings out from upstairs. She’s in the bathtub and alive. Harley yells at Nick, but when she goes to leave, he knocks her down a flight of stairs to keep her at the house.
Back in Metropolis, Ivy gets fed up with Gale and blurts out she is breaking in, which causes Gale to transform into battle mode, revealing she is actually a security robot that Bruce bought Lena for their “15-Day anniversary” and tries to kill Ivy.
Meanwhile, in Bensonhurst, Harley wakes up tied to a chair as Nick reveals that Lena hired him to get her out of Metropolis and kill her. Just then, a gig worker who is an unlicensed surgeon walks into the warehouse as Nick plans to harvest Harley's organs and sell them on the Black Market.
Ivy managed to override Gale only to discover Lena already destroyed the teleporter. Lena then sends Brainiac's Drones to kill her, and Ivy narrowly escapes. Just as the “Helper Boy” surgeon is about to make an incision, his saw dies because he doesn’t have enough charge, and while he talks to Nick, Harley breaks out of her bondage. She kills the surgeon, but a handful of gangsters run in and hold Harley at gunpoint.
Meanwhile Lena drunk with power makes changes to Metropolis that she knows her brother Lex would absolutely hate, before putting her name on the LexCorp building.
Back at the warehouse, the gangsters reveal that Lena also hired them because she always has a backup plan. Harley kills all the gangsters while lamenting how she still wants her father's approval even though he has been just plain terrible her entire life. But just as she turns around to scold him further, she finds a stray bullet has shot Nick, and then his lifeless body falls to the ground.
At Nick's funeral, Harley is confused as to why she is so sad about her father's death because she hated him so much. Sharon explained that it was because he was still family, and you care about family even when they are horrible people. Sharon accompanies Harley back to Metropolis to help her stop Lena because she is responsible for her husband's untimely demise. After Harley returns to the apartment, she tells Ivy what happened in Bensonhurst and that she is afraid of dying when Ivy is still mad at her. Ivy assures Harly that even though she will get angry at her occasionally, she will always love her, and the two reconcile.
Sharon finds Lena’s journal, which Ivy stole from her penthouse. After flipping through it, the women find numerous creative ways to kill Lex. With this new information, Harley realizes that Lena hates her brother so much because she craves his approval, just like her and her father. With the possibility that Lex could be the key to defeating Leana, the three women drive to Gotham and break him out of Blackgate. However, they return too late as Leana successfully shrunk and bottled Metropolis.
