"Bottle Episode" is the ninth episode of the fifth season of Harley Quinn, and the fifty-sixth episode overall. It was released on March 13, 2025, on Max.
Synopsis[]
Harley and Ivy attempt to mend the longstanding childhood rivalry between the Luthor siblings before Metropolis is destroyed. Meanwhile, an unlikely alliance forms between Bruce, the Joker, and Lois as they fight for their lives amid the chaos in the city.
Plot[]
In Metropolis, Bruce is still depressed about Lena when Joker visits to get a form signed for his stepdaughter's internship, Lois makes plans to leave Gotham, and Clayface and Bane are celebrating their awards after turning the Daily Planet into a major gossip rag when Lena Luthor shrinks the entire city.
Down below, Ivy and Harley talk out their next steps now that Metropolis has been bottled. Ivy reminds Harley that even when Lena tried to break them up, she could not. No matter what, they can take her on if they’re together. Sharon (Who is surprisingly well informed) points out that a spacecraft like the Skull Ship would have advanced cloaking technology and they’ll need to disable it before they could get on board. Harley then claims she knows just the person that will have exactly what the group needs.
In Metropolis, Bruce saves Lois while arguing about signatures with The Joker. The Automatons destroy the city with lasers as they search for Lex Luthor. This causes Bruce to come to the conclusion that the reason why Lena is not in love with him is because of her issues with her brother, while Joker resods with “Whatever gets you through the night big guy”.
Harley, Ivy, and Sharron drag an unconscious Lex to the Batcave, where they manage to contact Bruce via his communication watch. Harley and Bruce quickly produce the cover story that Batman works for Bruce who supplies him with his technology, which everyone believes. Believing that making Lex and Leana reconcile will fix everything, the group device a plan: Bruce tells Harley about a prototype device that WayneTech has been developing for Batman called the Batradia that can send signals to disable the Skull Ship’s cloaking device. Then Harley will use a plethora of Wayne satellites to pull the Skull Ship down to Earth's atmosphere, where Harley and Ivy can reach it using the Batwing. Lex wakes up and Harley shows what Lena has done to Metropolis. Initially, Lex has no intention of reconciling with Lena because he knows that it was her who leaked certain information to Lois for her expose which resulted in him being sent to prison, but he ends up agreeing to help the group because of his love of Metropolis.
