"Another Sharkley Adventure" is the seventh episode of the third season of Harley Quinn, and the thirty-third episode of the series overall. It was released on August 25, 2022 on HBO Max.

Synopsis[]

Harley infiltrates a gala on a mission to confront Frank's captor... only to be entangled in another evil plot.

Plot[]

Ivy is feeling ill after repeatedly accessing the Green. She still cannot see where Bruce Wayne is keeping Frank. Although Selina is unwilling to talk to Bruce herself, she shows Ivy and Harley an invite she received for a gala he is hosting. Ivy intends to kidnap Bruce for interrogation, but Harley tells her to stay home and recover. King Shark has to return to the Shark Kingdom due to his father’s death, while Clayface has to be elsewhere impersonating Billy Bob Thornton, so Harley will go on this heist alone. Harley charges Selina with taking care of Ivy. Amidst all this, Harley keeps receiving texts from Batgirl, who has been trying to strike up a friendship since their encounter in Riddler’s escape room.

In the Batcave, Batgirl and Nightwing are unable to cheer up a heartbroken Bruce, so Batgirl presents intel about an alleged criminal operation by Mad Hatter involving a fad of neuro-tech hats, though Bruce dismisses the evidence as circumstantial.

At the gala, Harley is confronted by Batgirl in an elevator. Batgirl asks why Harley is avoiding her, and adds that they’re friends; Harley insists she has “enough friends”. As they trade blows, the elevator presents them to goons wearing white rabbit masks.

Harley and Batgirl find themselves captured by Mad Hatter, who intends to use his widespread neuro-tech hats to puppeteer people. Harley finds Mad Hatter revolting, but clarifies that she is a villain like him, not Batgirl’s friend, and Mad Hatter lets her go. On her way out, Harley hears Batgirl scream, triggering her conscience; a hallucination of Dr. Harleen Quinzel prompts Harley to reflect whether Batgirl deserves being left for dead if she can help it.

Mad Hatter slaps one of his a mind-control hats on Batgirl and is about to force her to drink cyanide-laced tea when Harley busts in. She and Batgirl defeat Mad Hatter and his goons together. Batgirl is delighted that Harley has demonstrated shades of gray and came back. The latter bludgeons Mad Hatter to death to prove she is no superhero, but Batgirl is undeterred, and an exasperated Harley concedes that they are “in the area of friendship” before rushing out.

Outside the gala, Harley tricks an intoxicated Bruce by wearing Selina’s tiara. She knocks out the billionaire, bags his body, and returns to Selina’s penthouse. Selina is in the middle of cleaning vines, flowers, and other plant matter summoned by a dazed Ivy, who has entered a Green-induced stupor. Ivy snaps out of it upon Harley’s return, while Selina takes her leave before Bruce wakes up.

Meanwhile, beneath the sea, King Shark reunites the brother he did not eat, Prince Shark, at their father’s funeral. Being very close siblings, they whisper snarky gossip to each other about their father’s secret flaws. King passes the throne onto Prince for taking care of the family in his absence, but is shocked when the newly-coronated Prince says the Kingdom will soon “be no more”.

Prince tells King he is selling the kingdom to Ocean Master — an old foe of the Shark Kingdom and estranged brother of Aquaman — and that he wants to focus on himself after the burden of taking care of their father in hospice. King Shark starts expressing his concerns, and Prince counters that King has not been around, and thus shouldn’t expect a say.

As Prince and Ocean Master meet to sign documents for the sale, King Shark charges in. King’s diplomatic offer to his brother fails, and the two end up battling for supremacy. In the bloodbath, they grab Ocean Master’s helmet, and King ultimately uses it to impale his brother. After having eaten thirteen of their other brothers in the past, King collapses over Prince’s body in despair.
