The Amazons of Themyscira are a race of powerful warrior women who are led by Queen Hippolyta and typically defended by Wonder Woman.
History[]
The first amazon to appear in the series is Diana of Themyscira. She was the daughter of Queen Hippolyta but left the island at some point to became the superhero Wonder Woman.
In "Bachelorette" the goddess Eris mentally enslaved Queen Hippolyta and all the other amazons on Themiscira, making them her personal slaves, and took control of Themyscira. She turned the island into a corporate spa resort and planned to sell it to Lex Luthor. However, Harley Quinn discovered her plan and took her down as part of her bachelorette party for Poison Ivy. Following Eris' defeat and the amazons being freed, they threw a party to celebrate the victory of the "Cobb Squad".
Following this, many of the amazons, including Hippolyta, attended Poison Ivy's wedding to Kite Man in "Something Borrowed, Something Green".
